Managing Anger at Racism


Racism, in all its various forms, continues to be prevalent in our society. The anger and frustration that often results can be a catastrophic, self-defeating force in the lives or people who are experiencing racism and its effects. This is especially true in this anger is not managed constructively. The effects of racism, including institutional racism which can be difficult to identify and evaluate, can lead to severe psychological distress and maladaptive behaviors by those who are experiencing the effects of racism on a daily basis.


This workshop seeks to provide insights that can assist in responding to racism in psychologically and emotionally healthier ways. The workshop will address a variety of topics aimed towards enhancing participants’ ability to recognize the ways they have been impacted by racism, consciously and unconsciously .It will address the resulting anger and frustration while providing insights towards effectively managing these…
